First day of British Summer Time

As the clocks went forward we prepared for our first bird trip of 2015 British Summer Time- putting on waterproof coats and wellington boots!! Despite the persistent rain being driven horizontally by blustery winds we did manage to see 25 species of bird including Stonechat, Yellowhammer, Corn Bunting, Kestrel and our first Wheatear sighting of the year-although watching it hunkering down to escape the elements we couldn’t help wondering whether it was thinking that a few more days in Africa might have been a good idea!

Corn-Bunting-6 Stonechat (Saxicola torquata) 10 Wheatear (Oenanthe oenanthe) 5 Yellowhammer (Emberixa citrinella)
